Change Team:
Schedule for the week of 11/10
by posted 11/10/2019

Parents

I would like to thank you for all of your support this year.  Somewhere on the path to perfection, excellence can be achieved.  The Steelers were excellent yesterday.  I have never had a group of players that dominated the practice piece so thoroughly.  I know I speak for all of our coaches in saying it was an absolute pleasure being around this group.

I have a number of people to thank

Firstly my wife Sandy for all of her support and allowing me to put the time into the Vienna Community that I do.  Possibly it is better to have me out of the house :).  None of this would be possible without her.

Beth Salvosa did a spectacular job as our Team Coordinator this year.  Tailgates-cookouts-lanyards-volunteers---she was able to take alot off my plate so I could focus more on the kids.  Great work

Adrian Ordones did a great job filming for us this year.  Film is such a key learning tool.  His was on point.

Sean Lane not only for hosting the August get together but also for pitching in with the paint machine when we needed help.

To our coaches-we have the best staff in all of FCYFL, hands down.  These guys are teachers first.  They had an energy and enthusiasm that drew the kids to them.  Doug, my right hand man and my sounding board.  Roy always pushing kids in the right direction.  Mike for his energy and his eyes on both sides of the ball.  Todd for always being there and making the mundane seem exciting to the kids.  Foxy was missed the last few weeks but he reminds us that old school football is just that football and we need to hold the players to a standard.  Tommy for linking Steeler teams together and helping me deal with the off the field piece.  Don for stepping in and helping us wherever needed (whistle in hand).  Chris for coming out on Wednesdays and being the best coach on the field.  Neil was a huge add this year, stepping in wherever neeeded.  Finally I loved Carp's passion for the sport he brought every night.  He will be missed---as will Coach B!

The bulk of these guys do not have kids in the program.  They just love football, love teaching and love the kids.  Fantastic stuff.  This was our third consectutive American championship, sixth consecutive at the American level.  Half decent.

A couple of things-I am going to order the boys hoodie sweatshirts to commemorate the year.  Our team funds will pick those up.  If any parents would like one, please let me know.  I should have a cost in the next couple of days.  Beth and I will work on a team party.  Anticipate early December.

Tuesday from 6-7 we will have equipment turn in at the Annex.  Please wash the pants and jerseys.  I look forward to seeing everybody.  Seems odd not to have practice on Monday.

Again-thank you so much!

Tracking Storms for this Evening

Parents

Keeping my eye on the weather.  If we look clear, we will go tonight.  If the expected weather comes in, we will go tomorrow.  I plan on making a decision around 1:30 this afternoon.  Stay tuned.

Please check to see if your player has a white jersey.  If not, I have it and will return it to them tonight (tomorrow)
